Meet Dr. Curt Degner
Dr. Curt Degner has been practicing dentistry in Belvidere for 22 years. He graduated from University of Illinois-Champaign, and completed his dental training at University of Illinois-Chicago. The faculty of the University of Illinois Dental School recognized Dr. Degner as showing the greatest interest, knowledge, and proficiency in general dentistry during his senior year. He was awarded the Senior Student Award at graduation by the faculty and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Degner worked in Woodstock and Marengo for years before moving permanently to Belvidere. Each year, Dr. Degner exceeds all continuing education requirements and is dedicated to staying current with all the latest innovations.
Dr. Degner is very involved in local dentistry. He is an active member of the Boone County Dental Study Club, the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the Winnebago County Dental Society where he served as President from 2011 to 2012. Dr. Degner also volunteers with Donated Dental Services and the Mission of Mercy to provide treatment options to people who are underserved and have little or no access to proper dental care.
Dr. Degner raised his three children in this community. His two oldest children graduated from Illinois and Iowa State University. His daughter attends Clemson University as an engineering student. Dr. Degner’s family time includes fishing, canoeing, skiing, golf, tennis, and snowmobiling.
